I can vouch for the miserable experience of getting to the Red Line stations in the middle of the Dan Ryan, and of riding the line surrounded by highway traffic. But I&#039;m skeptical that the extension will spur transit-oriented development, given the poverty and isolation of the area it will serve. Even so, it&#039;s still the most important proposed expansion project in Chicago for reasons of basic equity.</description>
