$25 Billion Murray Amendment Fails on Point of Order

The U.S. Senate, which was expected to pass the $25 billion Murray Amendment to the stimulus bill, has prevented a vote on the amendment on a point of order. The amendment would have added $5 billion to transit to the Senate’s version of the bill, and this is a great disappointment to transit advocates.

There will be likely be other amendments that will increase funding for transit; here’s to hoping that one of those passes successfully.
